TENT MAKING STUDIES
(Tent Making Minister)

  1. Tent making student or tent making minister (Preacher) like Apostle Paul had unveiled is a preacher, a minister or a student pastor who is involved in one business or the other, or anything that can fetch him  or her finance hat can be a supportive force to whatever the ministry can fetch him. This tent making is an additional work which the minister had added to his gospel ministry for his family sustenance.

    This tent making can be petty trading, tailoring, welding, carpentry, Mason or anything that cannot be a hindrance to the call of God. This person can still do God’s work in full and still do that ministry but not as the first ministry. The student of EL Theological College shall be taught on these issues:-

    • The ethics and mode of ministry of tent making.
    • The rudiments of sincere tent making ministry.
    • How to combine full time and part-time businesses.
    • Ways to dominate tent making with altar business.
    • The usefulness of tent making ministry to the pastor.
    • The need to see tent making as a part of the gospel ministry.
    • The minister and his tent making business.
    • The financial benefits of tent making ministry.

    EL Theological College has the tent making as a full teaching program and students in this class find it very easy to grow faster, get their desires and achieve their goals. This course shall help the students have vision and shall deliver them from idleness and laziness. Every student of EL Theological College is obliged to take this course on full-time studies, as a full-time student of Eltheco.

     

    TRANSCRIPTS
    One transcript is provided free upon request of the student, additional transcripts will be supplied for fees each. A transcript will not be issued for any student who has not met the financial obligations incurred in pursuit of a degree program, neither will a placement dossier be issued for students in this category. These obligations include tuition payments, room and board payments, to one of the member schools, library fines, timely repayment and bookstore bills. Transcript requests must be made in writing to the common Registrar.

    ELTHECO ACADEMIC INPUT AND IMPACT
    EL Theological College academic input and impact simply refer to what EL Theological College is doing and all it intends to be doing. This is what the institution is doing to build and to educate its students and what it is planning or the means through which to educate and to build the students inorder to make them become successful in gospel ministries.
    TOOLS: The gospel and godly tools to use in order to achieve this divine project are stated below:-

    • The students of the first year must study and be led to study and research on the Bible book of Genesis with deep concentration on the lives of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Serah and Rachael and draw many examples from their attitudes behaviours and their responses in ech special cases or circumstances that came across ech of them and how they battled and become free. Their spiritual potentials, visions and piety shall be deeply considered in this area of studies. EL Theological College input and impact on the  students deeply referred to what the college planted into the  students through the examples and characters of the above mentioned Bible characters in the  book of Genesis and shall be taught to emulate and to copy their spiritual qualities and their godly piety.
    • The student shall be taught all about devotional life, a full trimester course that tells the students how, to pray, the importance of prayers, how to read the Bible and the importance of Bible Study and the  necessity of devotion, consecration, dedication, holiness and spirituality towards God. The main issue of Eltheco input and impact is to make the student to be strong, spiritual holy, sincere and to be bold eloquent, fiery, knowledgeable, studious, understandable, powerful in reading and in researching with great ability to write and  to quote. This idea will completely take the first year students out of ignorance, out of fear, out of illiteracy, out of inferiority complex and out of negative thoughts and negative possessions. The students shall be able to define the difference between being an ordinary member in the church and being a student in the Bible College, moreover the Bible college like Eltheco Aba.

     

    POLICIES FOR STUDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR HIGH PROGRAMS
    Students with previous graduate level course work/training in the program to be pursued will be evaluated upon enrollment and given appropriate credit. Evaluation will be based upon review of academic  transcripts. Credit allowed will be recorded in enrollment records and the length of the program shortened proportionately. In addition, the student and the department shall be notified. (Note: all prior graduate level coursework and training not used to satisfy another degree will be evaluated , requirements and transfer credit follow upon completion of the course of study a degree will be conferred.

    Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress. M.A. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be acceptable progress towards the completion of their program. Doctoral Students must move through their program at an acceptable speed and complete an annual evaluation with their academic advisor. If a student does not make satisfactory progress, he or she is allowed one semester in the M.A. program and one year in the Doctoral program to get back on track.

    An incomplete grade must be made up within three weeks of the end of the current semester. The faculty submits the grade three weeks after the work has been turned in to them. If no grade is turned in by the end of the sixth week after the semester, it will become a failing grade and will not count toward graduation requirements.

    • Advanced College of Pastoral Studies:

    For Bishops, General Overseers, Church leaders, Presbyters, Senoir gospel ministers and aged gospel ministers who have pastors up to twenty five (25) years.

    • Intercontinental School of Ministry:

    For lay workers, choristers, Deacons, altar workers, Ushers, Group leaders, Committee leaders and other lay church workers who want to be more useful to God and in the church as well.

    CENTRE FOR ISLAMIC STUDIES
    Islamic studies include serious effort to understand the belief, stand and the laws of the Islams. This very study is not political but real studies. This very study is not political but real studies to acquire necessary knowledge for the gospel ministers. 

    Islam is among the most famous world religions and stands as  the second to the world’s most populated religion. It is second to Christianity in population and shall be presently seen as the fastest growing religion in the studies of Islam as a religion. Four things shall be considered and also be compared and evaluated:-

    • What is Islam?: Islam is among the world most popular religions that can be seen all over the world members and  faith are called Islam or Muslim, the prophet of Islam or Muslim religion was Mohammed, born approx. AD 570 in Mecca. The scripture of Islamic religion is called Koran or Quaran, while the supreme deity is called Allah. In this study we shall do the following things:-
    • Comparative Studies of Islam and Jewish religion, comparative studies of Islam and Christianity. Comparative studies of Islam and African religion and comparative studies of the Quaran (Koran) and the  Christian Bible, and comparative studies of the  Islamic faith and practice with the Jewish faith as practice, comparative studies of the Muslim faith and practice with the Christian faith and practice of the Muslim and the Africanist. These comparative studies will help  the students to discover the areas of similarities the areas of agreements, the areas of differences  and the  areas of disagreements in the four mentioned religions above. The true knowledge of this truth shall be the faith of the students, increase their knowledge and fully equip them for Cross cultural and inter-religious ministries. This course shall be best for the missionaries and cross-cultural gospel ministers. Comparative studies shall also go down to new to Jewish deity, Christian deity, Muslim deity and the  African deity to discover whether there is any differences or simple mis-understanding in names and in beliefs.

     

    CENTRE FOR HINDUS STUDIES
    The Religion is called “HINDUISM” which is among the world recognized religions found BC 1500 and  seen as the first two earliest religion on earth. This study shall offer the students opportunity to understand the faith, practices, confession and the scripture of the Hindu religion. It shall also feature different comparisms among which are the comparative studies of the Hindus faith and Islam, Hindus faith and Judaism, Hindus faith and Africanist, Hindus faith and Greek philosophy. There shall also be a deep comparative studies of Hindus practices, Hindus scripture and Hindus confession with the afore-mentioned religions. This idea shall creat great opportunities for cross cultural ministers, inter religious ministers, Missionaries and all who desire to preach and to teach in other countries among other religions especially those with desires to work in Asian world. The focus shall be studies in Christian Bible  with comparism to the Hindus scriptures and  Hindus system to be compared with other religions.

     

    THE CENTRE FOR JEWISH STUDIES:
    PURPOSE:

    • To provide graduate study for Jewish who are planning careers in Jewish studies or Jewish education.
    • To provide for mutual exploration and exchange between Jewish and Christian scholars.

    STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES:
    A strong academic component of Eltheco offers possibilities of study involving the entire range of Jewish civilization. Its primary focus  is the history of Jewish thought. It encourages an interdisciplinary approach in order to promote the emergence of an integrated picture of Judaism. We offer Diploma in Jewish studies and advanced Diploma with a specialization  in Jewish studies may be pursued through cultural and Historical Studies or Religions.

    A certificate in Jewish studies is also available for those who desire systemic graduate training but are not prepared to undertake Degree programs.

    The centre helps to bring students in the theological community in touch with Jewish life and thought. Throughout the academic year, the centre colloquia, symposia and lectures by eminent Jewish scholars. This shall provide great opportunities to evaluate what the Hebrews believe and practice. The concentration shall be on Jewish religion, Jewish faith, confession, belief, Practice, Priesthood, Jewish elders, the scribes, prophets, Judges, people and the Jewish Elohim, Jehovah Judaism and Christianity in comparism with the present wave of Pentecostalism, catholicism, Anglicanism and the Protestantism. The present ideas, faith and practices in Jewish religion, tradition, culture, dogma and sects in Jewish faith shall be considered alongside the studies of the Bible, especially the first five books of the Bible and the entire Old Testament books of the Christian Bible.

     

    CENTRE FOR OCCULT AND MAGIC STUDIES.
    The centre for occult studies here features the exposition, survey and studies of occult, cult, magic and studies of activities of the witches in our communities and society.

    Occult, Cult, Magic and Witches in one way or the other have similar ideas, similar practices and similar work though with different deities, different worship and different laws and different method of actualizing their goals and visions.

    The similarities in these shall be discussed here and shall be made plain for studies. Below are the issues of studies on these:-

    • The deities of the occult, magician, wizard and the deities of the cult society.
    • How they see the Christian faith and the salvation in the name of Jesus Christ.
    • The prayers charms, sacrifices and others.
    • The roles of sreams, forest, crossroads, sky, stars and weather in their meetings.
    • The laws and taboos in such group.
    • The roles of forest gods, marine spirits, special animals and bird and their materials for prayers and sacrifices.

    The studies on occult, magics, cults and wizarding will help the theological students to know these with contrary practices in our society. This study does not encourage the gospel ministers to join them but a took to direct them to Jesus. This course will be studied along with the books of proverbs and Ecclesiastics. It is only three months studies with 15 credit hours.

     

    CENTRE FOR AFRICAN STUDIES.
    African studies here simply refers to the African traditional religion (ATR) or the practice and belief of the Africanists. This shall help the African students in EL Theological College evaluate their fathers ancient beliefs and practices. African Traditional Religion is somehow different from other religions. This exposition shall features many things in the belief, practice and worship of the Africanists of our days. The African religion features many things that are shown below:-

    • The Africans believe there is supreme God the creator of all things.
    • The Africans believe there are many gods the helpers of the supreme God to answer man’s prayers.
    • The belief that the dead ancestors are now gods to whom prayer and libations shall go to, who also serve as mediators between their living children and the supreme God.
    • The belief that life continues after death, which made the dead to join the boat of gods and to help the living.
    • The belief that village and community deities possess the  rivers, the forest and other designated places.
    • The belief that the sacrifice to gods goes with blood and shall be done at the altar for both the ancestors, forest gods, stream gods, sky gods, animal gods and other gods to respond to the prayer and sacrifice of the people.
    • The chief priest are the second mediator between the worshippers and the gods, who  through oracle connect the deities on behalf of the worshippers.

    The students shall evaluate such worship with the Bible and discover the similarities, differences, agreements and  the disagreements with other religions studied above. The book of Leviticus and Deuteronomy shall be studied thoroughly to consider and discover the reality or failures of this religion (African Traditional Religion). The students preparing for missionary shall find this work very useful for his vision and mission. This course is best for those of cross cultural and inter religious studies and all others for African ministries.

    African studies is very relevant to Nigeria students, especially those whose churches and ministries are in Nigeria and in other parts of Africa. African studies is 15 credit hours with deep concentration to African beliefs and practices. This an EL Theological College strategy to make her students to be highly academic and ministerially equipped. This is one of the great secrets of African with speed and rapid church growth.

     

    CENTRE FOR BUDDHIST STUDIES.
    PURPOSE:

    • To provide  program of education and training for students wishing to pursue a career in the shin Buddhist ministry and for those wishing to study the Shin Buddhist tradition at the graduate school level.
    • To foster the development of shin Buddhist thought in the religious philosophical and social context of contemporary African.

    STUDY OPPORTUNIITIES  AND PROGRAMS

    • Eltheco offers a three year program of study focusing on contemporary shin Buddhist Studies and culminating in a degree of Arts  in Buddhist studies, which is academically accepted and jointly administered with the Elgrothin.
    • This core program offers in addition a systematic treatment of other Buddhist traditions, a practice study of the writings of Shinran and preparation in classical and modern Japanese.
    • The students wishing to study Buddhist traditions may take the Diploma of Arts in Buddhist studies as a two year program.

    OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS TO ELTHECO:
    An annual journal  which treats a broad range of subject matter, including religious, cultural, historical and social/political topics bearing on the pure land Buddhist tradition. The Institute also hosts symposia, conference and colloquia promoting the development of contemporary Shin Buddhist thought.

    HISTORY.

    • Established in  2001 as a Bible School for Jodo Shinshu ministry and Buddhit studies.
    • Grew out of the Buddhist studies centre, initiated by Eltheco whichShinshu Buddhist a school of Pure Land Buddhism.
    • The faith and practices of the Buddhist are essential issues in this course and constitute why we study this.

    The supreme purpose of this study is to have a clear and proper information of the Buddhist faith, belief and practice and to see the areas of similarities, differences, agreements and areas of disagreements. This course is best for missionaries.

     

    ACADEMIC EVALUATIONS AND REVIEWS.
    Academic evaluations and reviews in EL Theological College has to do with all that  shall be done , all that this Institution has done, is doing and all it shall be doing in future, this also means what is now discovered that shall be done in EL Theological College which stands as necessities in Eltheco. In this matter we shall evaluate and review the following under listed program which this college is involved and also enlightens the reader of this document to see and to understand Eltheco emphasis:

    • The role of spirituality in successful ministry.

    ORTHODIX THEOLOGICAL VIEWS:
    The Patriarchal Orthodox Institute is directly under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and is representative of the various Orthodox jurisdictions in the country.

    PURPOSE
    The mission of Patriarchal Orthodox view is to educate, promote and sustain the traditions, values, teachings and culture of Orthodox Christianity. It embodies a strong and visible presence within, interpreting the ancient and rich tradition of the Christian East, and is an important centre for the study and dissemination of Orthodox thought and culture, supports a full professional chair at the Eltheco. This faculty position enriches the possibilities for study of Orthodox Christianity by students throughout and provides programs in continuing education for Orthodox clergy. This also provides regular course offerings in a variety of subjects related to Orthodox.

    Study of the Orthodox Theological views shall grant the student the opportunity to study and to understand the theological views of the Orthodox churches, also to consider the theological views of the evangelical churches, to consider also the theological views of the Pentecostal churches, worthy to mention is the consideration and discoveries of the African indigenous churches and their theological views. The supreme and the major focus in this study is the Theological view of the Orthodox which shall be compared with the theological views, practices and confessions of the evangelicals, Pentecostals and the African Traditional indigenous churches in Nigeria.

    We shall consider the following issues here:-

    • How the Orthodox see the Trinity.
    • How the Orthodox believe the Bible.
    • How the Orthodox preach and pray.
    • How the Orthodox evangelize and campaign.
    • How the Orthodox worship and honour God
    • What the Orthodox believe in charisma and ministry.

    The studies of this shall help the Christians to agree together and to work together to the glory of God.

     

    ELTHECO ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND LEARNING CENTRES.
    EL Theological College has the largest, the richest, the greatest and most academic Christian library in the state. Etheco scholastic library and Christian researching centre is owned by the management of EL Theological College and stands as the library owned and belonging to EL Theological College which is also inside the campus of the college and inside the building of EL Theological College. That largest library is called ELTHECO SCHOLASTIC LIC LIBRARY AND CHRISTIAN RESEARCHING CENTRE. The Library stands as the students centre for private reading, researching and their centre for private studies in order to be perfect in reading, in studying and in researching. Eltheco also has time and period designated for library business which every student must be involved.

    • The students are compelled to visit the library.
    • Students are taught all about research methodology.
    • Students are tested on their derivation from library.
    • Students have studies in library as a part of their academic programs in EL Theological College.

    THE CENTRE FOR THE ARTS, RELIGION & EDUCATION.
    PURPOSE:
    To encourage and develop programs, interrelations and scholarship in the arts and religion.

    STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AND PROGRAMS:
    This creates courses, conferences, publications, videos and exhibitions which centre on the relation between the two fields of art and religion. Consultations are held for creating and strengthening cooperative academic programs in art and religion as well as for developing programs in churches, synagogues and other religious communities.  The centre for Art, Religion & Education is supremely established to unveil the extreme part of religion with concentration to the popular world Religions, World Cults and Cultures in comparism to the education and developments attached to each of the religions in the areas of their dominants. The influence of education in our society shall be considered in proper evaluation of the religious life of the people.

    The student shall be helped to know and to understand the attachment, union and relationship between religion and education especially in African world. History and Christian Bible shall be used to excavate the truth of this course. Church history and Christianity in Africa shall be of great help to understand this course fully, really and faithfully to the total benefits of the students.

     

    CENTRE FOR IGBO STUDIES
    Centre for Igbo studies is a forum, centre and academic class specifically designated and mapped out for the studies of Igbo nation in Nigeria. This is an academic study that studies all about the origin, philosophy, religion and the activities of the Igbo nation is the focus of this course.

    This is 15 credit hours course leading to the full knowledge of Igbo man’s religion, ideas and culture and their origin. The issues to discuss include the following issues about the Igbo.

    • The origin of the Igbo nation in Nigeria.
    • The philosophy of the Igbo nation.
    • The religion and tradition of Igbo nation.
    • The specific adages and proverbs of Igbo nation.
    • The anthropology and activities of the Igbo land.
    • The politics and sociology of Igbo nation.
    • Communities, unions and villages in Igboland.
    • The integrity and contributions of the Igbonation.
    • Jewish religion and culture seen in Igboland.
    • The commitment, diligence and business spirits and orientation among Igbo people.

    The studies of the Igbo shall afford the student real opportunity to understand the issues found among the Igbo people and shall help the gospel ministers who shall operate or establish their churches and ministries within the Igbo land and among the Igbo people to succeed and to achieve their goals.

    The students of the Igbo shall be done with the open Bible with steady reference to the books of Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy where the Igbo picture, religion, culture and anthropology were revealed and totally unveiled. This course is not political and not malicious but the academic theological and Biblical means to study about the Igbo nation in Nigeria and to help the students especially the non-Igbo origin who may wish to establish his church in Igboland.

     

    THE  CENTRE FOR THEOLOGY & THE NATUIRAL SCIENCES.

    OPPORTUNITIES  AND RESOURCES.
    The scientific  interests lie in mainstream research in physics, Cosmology, Evolutionary amd Molecular Biology and Environmental sciences. The theology focus is on the living beliefs and practices of those who stand within the rich Western religious traditions. Doctoral, M.A. and M.Div. level courses are taught by professors (Systemic and Philosophical Theology) included.

    The centre is an affiliate of the Eluntabs with an international membership. It’s quarterly publication features scholarly articles and book reviews in the field and the quarterly News keeps members informed of science and religion events around the world. Student memberships are offered at a discount. Through its “Science” and the spiritual Quest, program, the centre brings internationally distinguished scientist into dialogue at the interface of science and spirituality also encourages the teaching of science and religion at colleges and  seminaries through its “Science and Religion course program” and offers workshops or pedagogy and course development for professors and others.

    The study of Theology and natural sciences help the student to be more convinced that God created the world and all things inside it Ps. 24: 1-3; Gen. 1: 1-26. The student will also understand that God is the cause of all causes, the root of  all roots and the beginning of all beginnings. This is based on the truth that the scientists derived their knowledge from what God created and emphasize on what God made and is still making. Theology and natural sciences are the true revelation of God’s creative power and His supremacy all over the world.

     

    CENTRE FOR PROF. EMMA ONONUJU’S WISDOM AND ACADEMIC PROGRAMS.
    The students of Rev. Prof. Emma Ononuju’s wisdom and academic program unveiled deep insight to what every student, every gospel minister and every believer in Christ should know and  pursue in order to become his real person and  to become whom God created him to become. This is an academic program of 12 credit hours aiming at equipping and educating the students on practical life, practical ministry, practical knowledge, wisdom and vision as were seen in the life of Rev. Prof. Emma Ononuju. This course shall be studied with an open Bible with references to the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and 1st Timothy, in order to discover the secrets of Christian life, faith, holiness, success and miraculous life.

    Below are the issues on focus on Prof. Ononuju’s wisdom and academic programs and vision:-

    • The vision and Mission of Rev. Prof. Emma Ononuju.
    • The necessity of vision, plans and goals in ministry.
    • The necessity of diligence, wisdom and patience.
    • The necessity of prayers, holiness, righteousness and faith.
    • How Ononuju started his ministry and why?
    • How EL Group of International Gospel Organizations was formed and why?
    • The impact of Ononuju’s ministries in the gospel world.

    The study of this is to push the students into vision, planning, wisdom, prayers and into holy living. That shall make the student be highly and  steadily be challenged in order to do more, go ahead and plan harder with prayers and righteousness in order to attract God’s presence. This course is a practical course to the students on how to be successful in gospel ministry.

     

     

     

    THE CENTRE FOR ETHICS AND SOCIAL POLICY.
    PURPOSE.

    • To serve as a bridge between the resources within the academy 9Ethics, theology, and the social sciences) and those organizations and persons working on solutions to social problems.
    • To develop and administer projects that address contemporary ethical issues.

    STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES.
    CESP does not offer courses of its own through Centre-affiliated faculty, teach through Elgrothin schools. There is an annual student fellowship in ethics. We often publish student articles and reviews in our newsletter. Ethics & Policy. On an individual basis arrangements can be made for students to participate in the work of the Centre.

     

    OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS TO LIFE.
    The centre contributes to this especially by providing a connection between this and the wider community. Occasional conferences and events are sponsored in which faculty join non-academic experts in a discussion about an important issue, like religion and politics. The centre has published a number of books. The centre has also played a key role in the discussion of books authors.

    HISTORY
    Inaugurated in 2010, emerged within the Colleges in response to injustices in society and the need to formulate and test new approaches to human problems.

    Ethics and Social policy here deal with the standard of living, moral justification, social integrity and man’s  mode of activities approved by the society or accepted by the society. It deals on what to do and what not to do, how to approach matters and how to deal with this society of tension, struggle, faith and faithlessness and  God’s standard of dealing with whatever the society may produce. The Bible is the supreme textbook for this course with full research and deep attention to the books of Deuteronomy, Ecclesiastes and the book of James with the indept studies to discover ethics and social activities which shall make the student to become the epitome of Jesus disciple.

    BISHOPRIC EQUIPMENT AND RETRAINING PROGRAMS OF EL THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE.
    (Centre for Senior Ministers Education)

    This is an academic and ministerial course to train, equip, retrain and to build Bishops and other church leaders in order to make them become great church leaders, ministry administrators and great gospel achievers. This is 15 credit hours academic program helping church leaders to become whom God called them to become in the gosel ministries. The issues and courses in focus in order to build the church leaders in order to build church members are those courses listed below:-

    • Courses on Church government
    • Courses on Church leadership.
    • Courses on Church Administration and Management.
    • Courses on Church spirituality and maturity.
    • Courses on crises Management and conflict resolution.
    • Courses on financial management in the church.
    • Courses on the management of men, ministry, mission, machineries, materials, matters and management of visions and self.

    The books of 1st and 2nd Timothy, Exodus, Leviticus and the book of Titus shall be used to unveil the secrets of ministerial success. This course is primary for church leaders, Bishops, General Overseers, Presbyters and all elders of the pulpit that have served over twenty five (25) years at the altar of God (Pulpit) as gospel ministers who desire to serve God in a great and successful ground  and on the ground of victory. This is a great course that shall make the church what God called it to become. The church leader or Bishop must be holy, faithful, patient, humble, wise, friendly and must be very careful. This course shall make the student to earlier acquire the potentials of Bishops and the good church leaders.

    This course is best for all called men that shall work for God on full time gospel ministry.

     

    THE CENTRE FOR WOMEN AND RELIGION.
    PURPOSE:
    To help women and men overcome oppression in faith communities theological education and larger society and this transform religious and societal sexism and injustice by:

    • Embracing academic excellence and creating the climate for women-oriented studies, scholarship, cutting edge research, community out-reach and programming.
    • Encouraging the re-examination of women’s historic and contemporary religious experiences to identify, create awareness and remove possible oppression, lack of self-empowerment, inequality and injustice within religious and secular communities.
    • Engaging educational and transformational ministries in honest dialogue and collaboration to address issues for women in religion.
    • Working to expand women and girls access to the realism of religion, spirituality, theology and total health and leadership.
    • Cultivating local, national and international relationship around women’s  issues and heightening awareness that women’s concerns are society’s concern.

    STUDY OPPORTUNIITIES AND RESOURCES.
    We  offer a variety of classes, support groups, seminar and conferences for students and faculty and publish  a bi-monthly Calendar, a quarterly newsletter and the annual Journal of Women in Religion.

    OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS TO GTU LIFE
    The centre connects the area community with conferences and workshops for clergy and lay women in ministry, in academia, in social activism as well as other special programs offering theological and ethical reflection in light of women’s experience and ministry.

     

    HISTORY.
    The centre for Women and Religion, an interfaith and multicultural organization, is an academic program unit of the EL Theological College
    And a non-profit organization founded in 2012.

    This course shall reveal the value of women in creation, in Old Testament, In New Testament, in the church, in gospel ministries, in family, in government and in the society. It shall project the importance of women, need of women and the contributions of women now and then. This course also shall evaluate the masculine and feminine genders and appreciate God greatly for His wisdom in creation. The Bible shall be used to evaluate this, the role of women in the Bible shall be explained and exposed.

    The ministries of women shall be encouraged and uplifted. This is 15 credit hours in connection with women existence.

     

     

    THE CENTRE FOR GENERAL OVERSEERS.
    The General Overseers of the church are mature elders, founders or Superintendent of church denominations and other gospel ministries. They are the denominational leaders, visioners, directors, Presidents and General coordinators or moderators, General Administrators, Presbyters, Bishops and the senior priests of their various denominations. They are ordained gospel ministers incharge of their churches nationwide or otherwise. This called men and women who have volunteered to serve God on full time gospel capacity who  may wish to please God in leading people of God to Jesus.

    The areas of focus in this training include these below:-

    • Church Government and denominational structure.
    • Church ministration and management.
    • Church leadership and human development
    • Crises management, conflict resolution
    • Denominizational sociology and psychology.
    • Numerical psychology and storm control.
    • Insight to spirituality, devotion and personal dedication.
    • Vision and Mission orientation.
    • Management of Missions and ministries
    • Charisma, talent and insight development.

    The student shall be helped to become the best of his type and to understand what it takes to become church leader, General Overseer and the shepherd of God’s flock. The books of 1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, Philemon and the book of Prophet Hagai shall be thoroughly used and studied in a true follow-up of this course in order to equip the students fully and comprehensively. This is a great pastoral course in EL Theological College Nigeria.

     

    LAY WORKERS TRAINING UNIT
    (EL Theological College Nigeria)

    EL Theological Lay workers training is deeply concerned with the training of senior lay workers in the church with concentration to the lay workers and all those whose names are often heard in the church and outside the church who desire to worship God in greater capacity. The lay people become more useful when they know what to do and how to do it.

    PURPOSE:

    • To equip the lay Christian workers with the truth of Christ.
    • To provide  the Christian laity with a solid Christian and Biblical foundation of tools and training for a life time of serious study
    • To enable the Christian laity to work out the practical implications of the faith for life and work.
    • To prepare men and women for active ministry in those lay settings to which God calls them.
    • To promote conversations among Christians and others concerning the moral sources underlying our social practices and cultural values.
    • To loose the lay Christians from the bondage of idleness and laziness.

    NCB offers courses as well as continuing education programs involving national and local conferences. Forum courses, workshops, Seminars and retreats through intercontinental school of Ministry Nigeria.

    OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS TO GTU LIFE.
    It offers students opportunities for learning with an emphasis on lay ministry from an evangelical, Biblical and ecumenical perspective and serves the laity in many local churches as well as a national constituency through our published research and our partnership with the quarterly publication under intercontinental school of ministry Nigeria.

    HISTORY.
    This also known as intercontinental school of ministry was founded in 2016. The lay training programme in EL Theological College is handled by the intercontinental school of ministry. A one year training of the lay church workers such as Deacons, Committee members, ushers, altar workers, Sunday School teachers, choristers, women and men leaders, youth leaders and other church workers. EL Theological College lay training program is deeply concerned with the building, equipping and training of the lay members of the church in order to make the church what God calls it to become and to fully reflect the true bride of Christ.

     

    COURSES ON DELIVERANCE AND HEALING MINISTRIES OF THE CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS.
    This is a practical theology under which the students shall be practically taught on Biblical truth, revelation and Biblical method of healing the sick, praying for the sick and making all under the bondage of sickness to be healed and be recovered. This course also shall help the students to know and to understand the method of total deliverance, how to deliver the demon possessed, demon oppressed, demon manipulated, the cursed person, cursed land and the demon captivated village or family.

    This is a 15 credit hour studies in EL Theological College aiming at making the student to become a deliverance minister according to the Bible principle and Bible authority. The entire Bible shall be used as the text books especially the four gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. The underlisted are the major issues to study.

    • How to cast our demons out of victims.
    • How to loose the demon oppressed person.
    • How to know the very victims of demons.
    • The authority to destroy the works of demon.
    • Can the demons obey and leave when we command?
    • Whose power, authority and name shall a believer use?
    • How to bind, cage and to defeat the demons.
    • How to restore demon damaged life and hope.

    EL Theological College students shall be thoroughly taught on how to defeat and cast out demons and set the victim free.

    CENTRE FOR THEOLOGY AND STRATEGIES.
    PURPOSE.

    • To promote the dialogue and development of Pacific, Asian theological and religious reflection and societal action within the context of the ethnically, culturally, religiously and generationally diverse Pacific community.
    • To foster the development of an interfaith and ecumenical, pan-Asian network among seminarian’s  academics, clergy and lay persons.

    STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES.
    Offers educational forums, conferences, and other events for the Eltheco and wider community that focus on pacific. Asian theological education, pastoral training, local church leadership development, spirituality and social justice and advocacy issues.

    OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS.
    The office has books, documents and manuscripts on the history and development of Pacific Asian people, religious communities and theology, also has current periodicals of faith and social justice from Asian countries, the Pacific islands and the publishes the newsletter biannually also sponsor a monthly spiritual support group.

    HISTORY.
    Established in 2010 by a group of gospel ministers seeking to rethink their own faith and re-orient their ministry in a way that affirms Asian experience, spirituality and culture. The supreme task of every theological study is to know God and to worship God either rightly or wrongly depending what that idea of theology is projecting, confessing and believing. Theology and strategies is deeply concerned with the ideas of nations, religions, Christian organizations and cultures about God and Christian approach to such and how can Christian evangelism excel and achieve what Jesus planted and planned. The proper knowledge of this course shall create the gospel opportunity for the Christian missionary in a strange land and in unchurched areas of the world.

    THE CLASS OF ORDINATION AND MINISTERIAL LICENSING OF EL THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE.
    The class of ordination and ministerial licensing is the unordained and uncommissioned students who are new ministers and who are not yet licensed, though at the altar and  behind the church pulpit. This class of students are called Men and Women who because of one thing or the order are not yet ordained or commissioned by the church or the recognized for such ecclesiastical services. Called men and women need special commissioning or what is called licensing in order to have the physical right and social boldness, while the elderly ones also need to be ordained in order to be physically qualified to officiate in clerical offices and officiate some sacraments in the church.

    There are lessons, studies, information and courses  needed by this class of students in EL Theological College which shall stand  as preparation tools for the students before such shall conducted on them:-

    • The Man or Woman of God must be saved and must have peace with God and full assurance of salvation.
    • He must be sure of God’s calling and willing to work and to walk with Jesus everyday.
    • He must believe in the word of God and doctrines of Christian faith and confess it everyday.
    • He must see the need for ordination and for his commissioning (Licensing) in order to feature boldly.
    • He must be very obedient to God and to Church authority.
    • He must be in harmony with his wife and all family members.
    • He must be spiritual, holy and righteous as a minister.

    The above ideas shall be planted, communicated and be fully taught to the students in order to prepare them for the higher offices in the gospel ministry, a 15 credit hour discussion in EL Theological College Nigeria. The books of Exodus chap. 13 to 22 shall be  studied, Acts of the Apostles chp. 1 to 6 shall be studied all in connection with this course, which shall reveal the lives and qualities of those that shall carry the gospel of Jesus Christ  to others and those that shall teach the church of Christ.

    This course shall reveal many things and teach the EL Theological College students the following issues:-

    • The duties of the licensed and ordained minister.
    • The status and authority of the licensed & ordained minister
    • The expected behaviour  of the licensed & Ordained minister
    • The family life of the licensed and ordained minister.
    • The public responses of the licensed and ordained minister.
    • The dressing appearances of the licensed ordained minister.

    The students shall be trained to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ and also become the epitome of the gospel.

     

    CENTRE FOR APPLIED THEOLOGY.
    PURPOSE
    This sabbatical experience in the setting of the EL Theological College and is an opportunity for middle persons to integrate their theology, spirituality and ministry within a wholistic context.

    OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES.
    A graduate school, a professional school and a sabbatical program participant may take the program for academic credit or may choose to audit courses and earn continuing education units. Academic credit is awarded based on personal reflection papers rather than on extensive research. Upon successful completion of the program, a certificate of graduate credit is awarded. Students who have a Bachelor’s degree and one of graduate theological studies may qualify for the professional degree. Master of Arts in Applied Theology. They must design a ministry project, implement it over the period of about one year and report on it in an In-field project paper approved by the school. The degree is awarded jointly with and accredited through the EL Theological College. Sabbatical programs, granting continuing Education Units (CEU’s) are also available. They run concurrently and are integrated with the semesters of the  graduate program. Faculty is drawn from various schools at the Eltheco and other institutions under EL Group of Theological Institutions (Elgrothin).

    OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS
    A mid-life program and the benefits from the wisdom and ministerial experience of participants. More than 200 with M.A. in Applied Theology degrees, serve in a variety of Christian leadership positions in different states and more than 40 foreign countries. Their In-Field papers on practical ministry efforts are available to students.

    HISTORY

    • Founded by Eltheco as the  place of lay theology at the Elgrothin.
    • Nevertheless, the focus of this idea and centre is the lay preachers, untrained altar workers, aged gospel ministers without formal training and all those at the altar that need more knowledge of what they are involved in.

     

    DEMONOLOGY AND LUCIFEROLOGY
    The class for demonology and Luciferology is an important issue in EL Theological College. This is a full course of studies of demons and that of Lucifer the leader of demons. The students shall be scriptural taking to how the demons came to be and who really is Lucifer. This is a 15 credit hour business aiming at unveiling the origin of demons to the students of EL Theological College. This course is very compulsory to every admitted student of the college.

    Below are the issues to be discussed with the entire Bible as the textbook

    • Who are demons?
    • Who is Lucifer and from where did he came?
    • Where is their present abode?
    • What are their works and businesses presently?
    • Can the demons live and operate in man?
    • What is demonic possession, oppression & initiation.
    • What is demonic manipulation and deception?
    • Can the demons kill, destroy and steal?
    • What is demonic temptation and depression?
    • Can the demons manifest openly like man?

    The students of EL Theological College shall be taken in a serial and deep studies about demonic activities and shall be taught on how to defeat the demons and set the oppressed free.
